Quaker Committee of Christian and Interfaith Relations (QCCIR)
QCCIR is a consciously three nation committee, as the Churches are so structured also (with Chuches Together in England, Cytûn, and Action by Churches Together in Scotland ACTS), so the Committee meets within its triennium in both Scotland and Wales.
QCCIR continues to work hard to engage in dialogue with Christian and Faith groups on theological and justice issues.
Accountable to Britain Yearly Meeting Trustees, the Quaker Committee for Christian and Interfaith Relations is responsible for keeping Britain Yearly Meeting informed of the various movements towards inter-church co-operation and opportunities for interfaith dialogue, and for responding on behalf of the Yearly Meeting so that Friends’ views on issues of faith and order are represented to other churches and communities of faith. (Quaker faith & practice 9.13.)
QCCIR’s current focus has been on three areas: Inter-faith work with our Muslim friends, World Council of Church’s (WCC) paper ‘The Church –Towards a Common Vision’ and Theism and Non-Theism.
